My fellow recovery leader Margaret asked me to create a painting based off of Natalie Grant's lyrics in "burn bright." The story of the song is amazing and if you or someone you know has struggled with addiction you should google it, I would try to explain it but I wouldn't do the story justice... Here's Margaret's photo story, enjoy!
Here are the lyrics:
Lately I don't recognize you
the fire in your eyes it fading into embersSo while you're out there in the darknessI'm pray you'll remember
[Chorus:]
You were made to shineYou were made for lifeEven if you've lost your wayTurn and you will hear love sayYou were made for more, so much moreChild of everlasting lightMade to blaze away the nightSo baby burn brightBurn bright
You can rise up from the ashes
Make something beautiful of all the broken piecesAnd I'm believing you'll come runningInto the arms of Jesus
[Chorus]
There will always be somebody in the dark
ready to rain down on your last sparktrying to blow out your flame againThey will do it if you let themohhhh, so don't you let them
[Chorus]
Oh, burn bright
Oh, burn brightI'm believing you'll come runningInto the arms of Jesus
