Ollie is there cutest. Seriously. I love him so much. His little personality is starting to show through. He likes to take your hand and lead you to the snack basket. Sometimes he doesn’t even eat the snack but he likes holding your hand all the way there. He laughs a lot. Whether you tickle him or he thinks of something funny, he loves laughing. He also really likes to snuggle deep. Not just sit on your lap, he wants you to wrap your arms around him and hold him tight. This kid loves to dance. He loves music. And he loves outside and he loves bubbles. We love him. #olivermassie

Ollie got this wooden egg yesterday from his food therapist. He got to decorate two eggs and he loved it. I tried to pry this egg out of his hands so he wouldn’t lose it at the gym and he had a mini meltdown. Where Ollie goes, the egg goes. #olivermassie

On the third Tuesday of each month we go to a support group type thing for parents of kids with special needs. My friend Kate told me about it so we checked it out last month and we really like it. Last night the topic was Dreaming Dreams with a special needs kid. I still have a hard time thinking that Ollie is Special Needs because he just keeps improving and I know things could be a whole lot worse and are worse for so many kids and families. Anyway, not the point of this. The speaker last night talked about how when you have a kid who has a lot of needs your stress threshold gets higher and higher and you can take more on as time goes on. It made sense then even if i don’t make sense now. I didn’t want this, I didn’t ask for this, but I’m going to take it because we do what we have to do. I designed a version of this print 4 years ago and I wanted to revamp it and make it better. In that moment 4 years ago I was fighting my eating disorder and now I’m dealing with something that is totally different but this saying still applies. I’ll give you a little run down of our day just Incase you were curious about it...
-Walmart notified me at 7:30am that my groceries were ready so I packed Ollie up and off we went. I waited for 15 minutes and then called the number. No one picked up so I called back 3 times. Then, I googled the number for Walmart and called the store and told them that I’ve been waiting for 15 minutes and no one has helped us. The lady then told me that they don’t open the pick up part until 8. 🙄 My question is then why did I get that message at 7:30then?! Finally got my groceries in the car at 8:10 while a child was screaming because he hates when he’s in his seat and the car isn’t moving. - I came home and let emma out to go to the bathroom and watched her poop white stuff out😳. Went to investigate that poop Incase it was bloody and found some worms in there. 🤢 I then locked Emma outside until brad could take her to the vet. -After they left I cleaned the house in search of any stray worms but found none. 🙌🏻 I threw every last toy in the tub with some chemicals to kill any worms I can’t see.
-After that was done I called the pediatrician to see if Ollie also has worms because Emma has worms and they like to chew on the same tennis ball. The lady I talked to said it’s pretty likely he has them too if they share stuff🤢🤢 dying over here. I can’t take this. I didn’t sign up for worms. -We drove to two pharamacies and neither had the medicine the lady said to get so i tried calling and in true emergency fashion couldn’t get a hold of anyone. So don’t mind me... I’ll just be over here caring for my worm infested family.
I really try to be low key and live a pretty uneventful life y’all but the drama keeps following us. Just want to keep it real for anyone who thinks we live a super glamorous life over here. #valerielynnmassie

Ollie learned how to hold his own popcicle today🎉 there are a lot of things in our world that seem so easy but they come hard for Ollie. He’s checking things off the list though. Yesterday was the first time he pushed the bubble mower by himself, he couldn’t quite figure out how to do it but then it just clicked.
Today he waved bye twice. Such a big accomplishment. We are seeing so much improvement but there are still things that are hard for him and one of those is eating. Today at lunch (in a nice restaurant) he choked on a fry and puked everything up. I did my best puke catch with my hands, got Ollie cleaned up and then we got right back to eating. Two steps forward & one step back is still progress. #olivermassie
